# Best practices for wallet setup

> Don't speed up transactions. Use MetaMask as your wallet. And learn how to enable and configure your Ledger to make contributions.

## Wallet Tips

**Key recommendations:**

* Ensure browser extensions aren't conflicting with your connection
* Clear browser cookies and cache
* Recommended wallet: **MetaMask**
* Avoid accelerating transactions as this causes problematic behavior

## Investing with a Ledger Hardware Wallet

Setup requires adjusting configurations in both MetaMask and on your Ledger device.

### MetaMask Configuration

1. Navigate to **Settings**
2. Select **Advanced**
3. Verify **Preferred Ledger Connection Type** is set to "WebHID"

### Ledger Device Setup

1. Connect and unlock your Ledger device
2. Launch the **Ethereum (ETH)** application
3. Navigate to **Settings** using the right button, then confirm with both buttons
4. Enable transaction blind signing when prompted
5. Confirmation displays **Enabled**—you're ready to proceed
